A diptych of unique golden frames with pages from an antique photo album; ‘Postcards from the garden’ is inspired by the blooming flowers in spring and summer in my garden. ‘Postcards from the woods’ is telling the little stories about the treasures I found on my walks in the woods . It displays the beautiful gifts the woods offers us.

There’s so much to be discovered in the woods! Beside trees, bushes, mushrooms, … a great collection of flowers is growing in the forest. This triptych of handmade golden frames contains different wood flowers such as vinca minor, viola odorata, anemone nemorosa, maianthemum bifolium, … All the flowers, stems and details are hand modelled in porcelain. Porcelain’s fineness, fragility and strength lends itself perfectly for these natural forms.

Who doesn’t know the delicate snowdrop? These small winter miracles are such a joyful and hopeful sign at the end of winter. They’re the heralds of spring. In the woods they often form impressive carpets which make a beautiful contrast with brown hues of nature in winter. In this frame the details and parts of this lovely flower are displayed.
