In my studio

The past months I've been working on new pieces for the upcoming market season. And slowly I noticed the garden shifting from winter into spring. From a bare landscape into a blossoms and fresh green.

In this blogpost I like to share some glimpses of what I've been working on and what you can expect at the ceramic markets in 2025.

Herbaria and old botanical books have been a source of inspiration for a long time but recently I discovered the herbarium of Emily Dickinson. And I've been making some new creations inspired by her dried flowers, which will be placed in matching metal boxes with a corresponding card of the flower.

There are also some new notebooks and herbaria with porcelain covers and imprinted flowers in the making. I'm still working on the new designs for the paper pages that will make the heart of these unique books.

We've had a really beautiful spring time and certain things I can do outside on the terrace of my studio, like colouring the porcelain book covers. I just love being outside where I can watch the beauty of spring in the garden and listen to the birdsong. It's so wonderful how nature awakens and how everything grows so quickly these days.

Here you can see the first spring flowers which I'm using to make new porcelain tags. Sometimes it's a pity I have to remove the flowers as they look so beautiful. But there imprints are also very lovely and subtle in the porcelain clay.

Tiny violet flowers in the making to fill new glass boxes. They are like small three dimensional herbaria for everyone who loves botanical treasures.

There will be a lot of new jewellery with new colours and new designs.

They are still a surprise! Here you can see them when they are covered with transparant glaze. I have to admit that glazing is the least favourite thing I do. I'm always happy when it's done and I can put everything back in the kiln for the final firing.

View on my garden from my desk. On the right you can see the blossoms of the plum trees. It's going so fast now! Within one week the whole garden was changed into a green oasis.

Small vases filled with flowers from the garden on my desk. As you know, I love to bring nature inside so I can enjoy it even more!

These porcelain tags will be part of a new stationery collection. There will soon be new cards with celtic blessings available, as well a little notecards with these hydrangea imprints.

This is only a small selection of what I've been working on. If you want to see more, I kindly invite you to visit one of the ceramic markets I will join. You can see the list here or take a look in my Agenda.

My first market will be Potfest Glynde Place in the UK at the end of April. It's a new one to me and I'm really excited to take part!

I'm looking forward to seeing you!
