My work in ‘Slower Living’ and a new movie

Last year in late autumn the lovely outdoor photographer and writer Eva Krebbers came for a visit to my studio. I was asked to be part of her new book ‘Slower Living'. Of course I said yes! I wholeheartedly relate to slow living and it was an honour to be featured in her newest book.

A slow life enhances so much more than the cozy pictures we see on social media. It's definitely not synonymous for an easy life which we often get the impression of by these pictures of women clothed in linnen dresses wearing wooden baskets filled with flowers. To live a slow and conscious life, one really needs to work very hard, both inside and out. It comes hand in hand with lots of effort but I'm convinced it's worth it!

It's all about a mindset and the discipline to choose for a healthy and sustainable life. We chose to respect and take care of the people and nature on our planet.

There's so much beauty and joy to be found when one lives a a slower pace and close to the natural rhythms of the seasons. We will have the time to be attentive to our surroundings and it will open our eyes to tiny, otherwise unnoticed details. Making and creating things yourself takes more time but it's so rewarding and beneficial for our overall health.

It's such a beautiful book with creative projects to help you living life more consciously and at a slower pace. Through every season of the year you'll get inspired by the knowledge and experiences of creative makers. A lot of tutorials will help you on your way to a slower life.

Eva makes the most wonderful and dreamy photos with so much attention for atmosphere and details. Her book is truly a feast for the eye and a source of inspiration for a seasonal and sustainable lifestyle with recipes for slow and creative projects.

In the tutorial I'll show you how to make a mushroom in clay. It's such a creative and cozy activity on a cold day and afterwards you can add your creation to an autumn bouquet or use it as Christmas decoration. And I'm sure you will experience the soothing and calming effect of working with clay!

If you'd like to purchase the book ‘Slower living’, just pop in to your local and independent bookstore or order it directly by Eva Krebbers on her website where she also offers a lovely limited edition in combination with her first book ‘Slow Living'.

Eva has also made the following little video about my studio and work. Will you join us for a little tour in my botanical world?
