Exhibition ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ at Keramion
Welcome to Keramion in Frechen (Germany), a well known place and museum for contemporary ceramics. You can now visit the current exhibition ‘Welcome to the Jungle' where the unique works are shown of 9 female ceramicists.
The exhibition ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ runs from 23.5.24 until 29.09.2024.
This new artwork is title ‘A walk in the rainforest’ and is inspired by different types of rainforest plants such as ferns and orchids.
This glass showcase 'Field Notes', is filled with treasures from walks and research in nature; real pieces as well as porcelain ones.
‘Paphiopedilum sukhakulii’ and ‘Monotropa Uniflora’
'Whispering leaves'
Here you can see the installation 'Carpet in the woods’ of withered leaves and mushrooms; it's about decay and the endless cycle of growth and death in nature.
The big mushroom on the right is Leucocoprinus cretaceus, a saprobic mushroom as it feeds on decaying organic matter.
‘Rainforest Spirit Collection is another installation. These apothecary jars are filled with porcelain exotic specimen such a as vanilla, cacao, … and refer to antique zoology or plant collections preserved in spirit in natural history museums.
I hope you've enjoyed this small selection of my work which is exhibited in Keramion. There's much more to be seen, but therefore I kindly invite you to visit the exhibition.
