Ode to Winter
An ode to the winter. In this poem by Matthew Holloway we can read how this melancholic season can feed our soul and nourish our heart.

One day in January
At the beginning of this new year I treated myself on a day out in Leuven, one of my favourite cities! I started the day at Abdij van Park (an Norbertine abbey) where I joined a guided morning silent walk. I visited the Botanical Garden and share what we can learn from nature in winter.

A Christmas card for you
At the end of this year I would like to send you this postcard with an Irish blessing and my best wishes for the new year!
I also wish you a Merry Christmas and hope you will have cosy and slow days with your loved ones!

The first days of Winter
When I opened the curtains this morning the world looked like a winter fairytale. So after having breakfast and when our girls were off to school for their exams, I put on my walking shoes, wrapped myself in woollen layers and braved the cold. But it was worth it when I saw the icy beauty in the nature reserve.

Highlights of my 2022 collection
In this blogpost you can discover the recent works I’ve made the past months. Some of you might have seen them already in real but I thought it would be nice to show you a little overview.

Seasons and rhythms
In the evening, it’s getting darker by every day that passes. We’re approaching the darkest time of the year. It can be a gloomy and difficult time for a lot of people. I have to admit I also don’t like these short and moody days but I’ve slowly learned to embrace the good parts in it. Here in Belgium we’ve had a long and sunny autumn with beautiful and bright days which I’m really grateful for. Although these warm days somehow felt strange, uncomfortable and worrying as they’re sadly caused by the effects of the climate change.

Shop update
It’s time for a shop update with a new collection of my work! Here you can already have a sneak peek of what will be available in my Etsy shop on Friday the 21st of October.

October fairytale
After a bad night rest I woke up on this sunny but cold October morning. To get my head clear and awake, I wrapped myself in a warm coat and scarf, took my camera and went for a stroll.

Golden August
We’re halfway in August, that last month of summer. A month of golden summer beauty. Golden fields of corn, dried grasses, blooming common tansy and golden sunsets. Let me take you into a story of my golden moments in August…

New work
Finally a little update of my recent works of 2022! In this blogpost you’ll discover antique boxes and handmade golden frames filled with delicate botanical pieces, all inspired by my love for nature and the seasons.

Summer quote
Today summer officially begins! Time for a summer quote…

Early summer days
It’s already June; the month which is filled with the longest days, strawberries, roses and peonies. The month when the verdant garden is at its peak of beauty and when so many flowers are in full bloom.

A morning in the garden
This month hasn’t come with April showers but gave us sunny spring days instead. The soil warmed up and seeds could germinate, everything has bursted into shades of green, trees are unfolding their leaves, the first spring flowers are blooming and the fruit trees are in full bloom. Spring is really here!

Spring quote
Spring is officially here! A season we’ve all eagerly been waiting for. Harmonious bird song in the morning, sweet fragranced blossoms, fresh green shoots, the lengthening of daylight and the bright yellow of the first dandelions colouring our days.

Beautiful Bruges
On a sunny but cold Saturday morning my husband and I travelled by train to Bruges, one of the most beautiful and historical cities in my country. Its history goes back to the Middle Ages when it became an important international trading centre.

The poetry of snowdrops
Every year again I can’t resist writing about the wonderful snowdrops. These small winter miracles are such a joyful and hopeful sign at the end of winter, aren’t they?! Finally we can start dreaming of Spring again!

February musings
It’s a grey and windy day with rainy clouds passing by. We’re halfway of February and on a day like this, spring can still feel far away. Still, there are already subtle signs of the reawakening of nature and the days are getting lighter. Have you noticed it too?

My creative process
It’s a grey, windy and rainy day at the end of January. I’ve just made myself a cup of herbal tea, put on some classical music and am all ready to write this new blogpost! It will be a mix of my nature photography and porcelain work. Some delicate porcelain poetry for a winter’s day…

Rest and reflection
I’ve wanted to write a blogpost for a long time but my thoughts and ideas weren’t quite aligned to work it out. But I think I finally have something I would love to share with you at the beginning of this winter season. Sometimes ideas need some time to ripen and grow… and that’s what the winter season is for.

Winter quote
Winter is officially here! Although it’s not snowing outside right now, some snowy and wintry pictures are appropriate for this time of year, don’t you think?! So I scrolled through my photo archive of last winter and came across these ones. Just to bring us in the winter mood!
