November Days

November … the month between golden October and festive December. For many it can be a dreary month and maybe we’d like to have this month passed by as quickly as possible. Short and dark days with often a lot of rain. Everything is fading in the garden and nature.

But I’d like to share with you some of the moments this months delighted me with … I hope November has given you joyful moments too!

Blooming Blossoms

The end of April is a magical time as it’s the nature is adorned with delicate blossoms (and it’s my birthday on the last day of April). I live in a region in Belgium which is well known for its fruit orchards so I’m surrounded by blossoms every day these days. When I go for a walk or a morning run I enjoy endless rows of blooming pears, apples and cherry trees.

I notice I’m slowly losing my feeling of wonder and enchantment with every year that passes by since I live here. It’s as if I’m getting used to this abundant beauty around me. And it make me feel a little melancholic and sad as I long for that deep sense of wonder and delight I had in the beginning. So it makes me wonder how I can learn to be awe again, to really see. That’s what this blogpost is all about (and lots of blossoms too of course)!

A postcard from early spring

I’m sending you some postcards from an early spring day, spent outside in my garden and nature. I hope you like them…

After a week with cold, snow and days of rain it’s a mild day with a blue sky and some white clouds are slowly passing by. The sun feels warm on my face as I’m looking out over the garden where the first sprouts of green appear. Although it is “this time of year when it is summer in the sun and winter in the shade “(quote by Charles Dickens). Spring is definitely around the corner!
